What a week, what a week. Life with Brian has been quite busy between Sundays this week. Here's just a snapshot:
- Dress rehearsals for the Music Man at the Barn Theatre were Monday and Tuesday night. I've had the great pleasure of working with a superb cast. I could go on and on about the cast but you really just need to experience it yourself.
- We opened the show on Wednesday and had 4 great performances. There are 8 more to go. Wed - Sat, June 16th - 26th.
- Emily (my oldest daughter) ran her first 5k this week in 22 minutes in the rain. What can I say except I'm super proud of her.
- Meanwhile, I ran my first time in 2 months - the schedule has just been crazy - I've been lazy, really, and boy could I tell it's been a while. My back was stiff and I had to cut my 35 minutes down to 25. Ouch.
- Our outdoor service was scheduled for today. I had the sound stage ready to go, the sound equipment, band, and singers, only to have to move it inside due to the threat of rain. What a drag. We had a great time inside but 50% chance of rain turned into an entire day of no rain whatsoever. Everything else happened outside - games, face painting, inflatables, barbeque cook-off (congrats to Sheila) (better luck next year Chad).
- After a short break from the block party, we returned to the church for VBS. Great time - almost 100 kids. When it comes to VBS, you can never have enough volunteers but our helpers are awesome.
- Now I'm chilling with the Tony's, enjoying some great music, typing during the acceptance speeches, and looking forward to a day off tomorrow - just playing guitar, songwriting, and who knows what else.
